Among the highlights noted were the following: and including the most profusely illustrated Book of Hours known by the Master of Zweder van Culemborg, Utrecht, c.1430; a manuscript of astronomy, in Hebrew, Catalonia, c.1360, with 48 rniniatures; a Herbal in Greek, fifteenth century, with 71 miniatures; Cristoforo Buondelmonti, Liber Insularum Archipelagi, with 83 miniatures and maps; a Gospel Book in Armenian, fifteenth century; the Statutes of England, c.1330, which was acquired by exchange for a printed book, c.1510; and the Whixley Cartulary, c.1400; texts by Plato, St. Gregory, St. Benedict, Jacopo da Cessole, Galvano de Padua, and others; liturgical manscripts, including two Cistercian Breviaries, one of the twelfth century, and a Lectionary from Nuremberg; nine Books of Hours, from Utrecht, Haarlem, Bruges, Hainault, Amiens, Rouen and Bourges; single miniatures by the Boucicaut Master, the Master of the Franciscan Antiphonary, and Domenico Morone; leaves from the Breviary of Aymo de Romanano, bishop of Turin 1411-68; leaves from the Gradual of Ferdinand and Isabella, c.1490; and an initial from the Gradual of Louis XII, c.1500; text fragments from the eleventh century onwards; and documents including one issued in Soissons in 1209.
