First edition, author's presentation copy inscribed in pencil on the front free endpaper to his fellow Hispanist: "Vernon [Richards] from Gerald / Chrsitmas 1974". A nice association: Brenan wrote "The Spanish Labyrinth" and Richards was the author of "Lessons of the Spanish Revolution". A very good copy lacking the dustwrapper.
