First Edition
Hardcover (Original Cloth). Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: No Dust Jacket. First Edition. 300 g; 362 pages, in original dark green hardcover binding with gilt titling to the spine section. Slight darkening/dustiness of the top edge of the text block, offset tanning of front and rear end pages, and of the half title page and final page itself of the book. No other marks or inscriptions to mention. In this volume we follow the fortunes of Miss Pargeter's soldier from Dunkirk to his return from the East in 1943 in this story he fights his way from "D" Day to victory. Thus a remarkable trilogy is brought to a triumphant conclusion with what is perhaps the most exciting of the three stories. It is amazing that this picture of tank warfare, of artillery concentration, of Maquis ambushes, should have been written with such detailed realism, and with such understanding of a soldier's mentality, by a writer who was herself serving in the WRNS -- remnants of dust jacket. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Fiction; Inventory No: 0227396.
