Book
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. The coveted first edition limited to 2500 ( of which most were not sold ). With drawing by Max Ernst ( the editor's husband at the time ), imprinted on the yellow front board. Very good condition. Content clean and binding tight. Neat message at base of front free endpaper: "With my love, Sassa". Small white mark at top of front free endpaper. and a small Johannesburg shop label ( Vanguard Booksellers ) at bottom of front board. Spine has slight wear on spine extremities. Produced for the Art Aid Corporation, this book was a catalogue for the eponymous New York gallery, stocked with the fabulously wealthy art collector Peggy Guggenheim's best hand-picked pieces. There are three prefaces by Andrew Breton, Arp, and Piet Mondrian. I would prefer to express courier this overseas than send it via the postal service, as it is a valuable item. This will incur an extra charge.
