Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Scarce. Includes six songs and a series of full-page black and white photographs, with portraits of Mick Jagger, Keith Richard [sic], Bill Wyman, Brian Jones and Charlie Watts plus several group shots. The Rolling Stones Song Book is 28 pages long, including the covers. No publisher is named, but a design credit is given to the Stones' manager Andrew Loog Oldham. Songs included are Time is on my side, The last time, Heart of stone, Play with fire, Congratulations, and Grown up wrong. There's no markings to the text, the pages are a little browned around the edges with age, with some minor dog-earing, mostly in the bottom right-hand corner of the pages, and just a few spots and smudges, maybe half a dozen, taking quite a perfectionist view. The covers are a little creased at the corners, and a little bit worn and spotted around the edges. Overall, very good. The songs have strikingly simple lyrics. Like Mick Jagger once said, looking back to his youth: "I've always found sex very exciting, but I didn't suffer. I was very emotional at that time, but then most adolescents are, like over-dramatising situations, and that's why there's always been a very big market for adolescent love songs. You know, those songs that are based on the frustrations of the adolescent. Anyone who consciously or unconsciously understands that and writes fantasies based on that premise gets hits.".
