In an era where personal lives are meticulous curated and presented, Keiler Roberts' unflinching and intimate comics reveal real life to be as absurd as it is profound. In a sequence of vignettes, Roberts delineates the complicated life of a mother and artist that can be comical, melancholic and delightful.

Keiler Roberts' autobiographical comic series Powdered Milk has received an Ignatz Award for Outstanding Series and was included in the The Best American Comics 2016. Her work has been published in The Chicago Reader, Mutha Magazine, Nat. Brut, Darling Sleeper, Newcity, and several anthologies.

Review:
"A wry but honest look at life as an artist, wife, and mother while dealing with bipolar disorder, Roberts pulls no punches with a disarming directness." ― Publishers Weekly

"Keiler Roberts' autobiographical graphic memoir captures the feeling of being a parent as well as an artist and writer better than any book I've ever read. There are no cliffhangers or life lessons. It's more about the texture of being alive: the melancholy, the unexpected small delights, and its unavoidable sense of aloneness. This book is written with insight, intelligence, and a deadpan sense of humor. I loved it." ― Roz Chast
“Uncompromising and ever engaging Sunburning is, once again, an exemplary piece of autobio comics from Keiler Roberts that underscores the uniquely connective power of the form in building an empathetic bond between creator and reader.” ― Andy Oliver, Broken Frontier

“Even if you haven’t experienced one of the identities that Roberts explores, Sunburning demystifies that feeling of enduring despite the ups and downs of illness and of everyday life. And the fact that it is so funny, makes the collection that much more delightful.” ― Whit Taylor, ROAR“Her depictions of her struggles with bipolar disorder as well as her brutally and hilariously honest exchanges with her daughter, her husband, and her parents are just about the most direct and real scenes you’ll read in comics this year.” ― Rich Barrett, Mental Floss

“Keiler Roberts observes the absurdity of being the parent of a young child with a sharpness that makes me wonder if there are hidden cameras at my house.” ― Dan Gearino, The Columbus Dispatch

“Roberts is a gagsmith first and foremost. No matter how dark or grim the tone (and sometimes it’s just frothy or silly), Roberts always constructs her strips with the rhythm of a humorist, including the final beat of a punchline at the end of the strip.” ― Rob Clough, The Comics Journal

“[Roberts] makes a compelling argument that comic strips can depict mental-health issues in ways no other medium can.” ― Abraham Riesman, Vulture

“Roberts brings her powder-dry sense of humor to bear on her odd neurological symptoms, her bipolar disorder, and life as a professor, artist and mother.” ― Publishers Weekly, 20 December 2017

“Vignettes about motherhood, aging, family, mental health and everything in between, perfectly curated and interestingly arranged.” ― Nick Drnaso, author of Sabrina and Beverly, Boundless

“These stories can be really mundane (in a good way!); they’re sometimes sad, sometimes awkward and frequently familiar.” ― Erik Missio, CBC Parents
