Review:
Really enjoyed the book...poetry provocative, enlightening and thoroughly enjoyable. An important aspect is that it is from the patient's point of view...Provides insights on whether all that we(rehab)do is valuable...a valuable resource for our staff, as well as families and friends in order to demystify the process of healing. -- New England Rehabiilitation Hospital
This is a truly remarkable book. Those of us who work in the field of brain injury constantly struggle to focus and refocus on the actual experiences of the injured brain. Now comes an intimate, passionate and precise story of the not uncommon and little understood event. The book taught me a great deal on a clinical level. The author's willingness to share her journey has become a deep source of inspiration for me in my work. -- Joseph Ratner, MD
Wings is an intimate, poignant and inspiring look at one woman's courage and determination to face and conquer the challenges of disability. We were fortunate enough to have a copy of the manuscript in our office the day before it went to print. Everyone laughed in between the tears..an emotional roller coaster. Nothing I have read in my time has moved me as much as this book. -- Brain Injury Association of Maine
