About the Author:
David Scott, author of the main introduction, is an internationally known writer who has been studying Zen for nearly 20 years and is the author of various books on Japanese life and culture such as Samurai and Cherry Blossom, and The Elements of Zen. He lives in Liverpool. Sian Evans, who writes on Zen Interiors, has lived and studied in Japan, gaining a postgraduate diploma in Cultural History at the University of Tokyo, and is the author of Contemporary Japanese Design and In the Oriental Style. She is now based in London. Marc Peter Keane, author of the Zen Gardens chapter, is an American-born landscape architect and garden designer who lives in Kyoto, where he is Associate Professor at the Kyoto University of Art and Design. He lectures extensively worldwide about Japanese garden design and is the author of Japanese Garden Design.
