Review:
This book has many wonderful recipes! I bought this book because a good friend recommended it. It has been very helpful to me on my whole foods plant based journey. I can really relate with Amy because I also got very sick on a mission in Ecuador. I have been on a health journey ever since and feel like this book is inspired. I have not made very many of the recipes but haven't gotten a lot of great ideas from the book. I don't love following recipes specifically and this book has given me a lot of ideas for new things to eat, especially with salads. I have made the Good Fortune Flatbread and the Herbed Buckwheat Millet Flatbread several times. These gluten free flatbreads are about as healthy as you can get. I am allergic to coconut so I used almonds instead in the Good Fortune Flatbread recipe. It is delicious. I also omitted the oil and used applesauce instead. I have found when making these flatbreads that if you soak the grains before then you should use a lot less water. Also, bulk of the soaked grains is greater than the bulk of the dry grains so if you make a double batch (as I usually do) it will measure out to more than 1 cup of buckwheat. As a result I don't follow the recipe exactly but it always turns out fabulous. I have also really loved the tea blends. I bought the ingredients (Mountain Rose Herbs) for the Christmas Tree Tea, the High Nutrition Tea and the Peppermint Salt Water Taffy Tea. I mixed up the herbs and put them in some nice jars. I scoop the dry herbs into a jar and pour hot water over. Then I put on a sprouting lid and let them steep. I pour the tea through the sprouting lid. They have all been some of the best tasting teas I have ever had. I have also learned from the book that you can soak and rinse lentils and then put them in the fridge and let them sprout. They stay good for a couple of weeks and are great on salads or quinoa bowls. --Amazon

Great kitchen tips for those of us getting started on an healthier more sustainable way of living and eating. Just enough recipes to give you variety in your nutritional meal choices but not to overwhelm you. Simple ingredients, easy to follow instructions and really delicious final results.
