About the Author:
Mary Lou Décosterd is a consultant, educator and writer who began her career working with children, families and young adults. She worked in a variety of settings such as special art schools, treatment facilities and college student services. Mary Lou went on to teach undergraduate and graduate human services and psychology courses and to consult in the profit and nonprofit sectors in the areas of staff and organizational development. She is currently founder and owner of The Lead Life Institute, an organization specializing in leadership, team and organizational excellence. Recognizing the special challenges and issues facing our young children today, she wanted to develop an experience to support their development as well. She created the Magical Max book series as a way to help children become their best. She holds a B.A. in Psychology, Master's degrees in Educational Psychology, Organizational Development and Clinical Psychology, postmaster's certification in School and Community Psychology, and a Ph.D. in Human Development. Mark Cooper is an award-winning illustrator and art director in both print and filmmaking with over 20 years of experience in the United States and overseas. Mark is currently founder and owner of Quick-Draw Creative Group in Orlando, Florida.
