About the Author:
Hello, my name is Craig Bishop, Senior Pastor of BranchCreek Community Church. We are located in a northern suburb of Philadelphia, PA. I have helped to lead BranchCreek since its founding 33 years ago. Our church has grown from a group of about 20 to over 4,000 attenders today. I have had the privilege of teaching spiritual leadership principles to churches here in America and abroad. I serve as a trainer for Purpose-Driven principles (Saddleback, Rick Warren) and our church is a Purpose-Driven Church Health Award Winner. I have written three books, Emerging Faith, Faithspace in the Workplace, and Discovering Your Divine Design. All of which have been used as a part of a spiritual growth campaign at our church. The most recent, Discovering Your Divine Design, included enlisting 300 new people to join a small group to focus on the study. My passion has always been to help people take their next step toward God.
Review:
With all the life options we have today, the possibilities stretching out before us can seem like a labyrinth of endless twists and turns. Craig Bishop has done us two favors. He has employed his own unique ability as a world-class communicator to make our journeys clearer and more meaningful, and he has made the process joy-filled. Discovering Your Divine Design is hot! You'll see yourself in its pages. More important, you'll discover that God has something wonderful in store for you. --Randy Estelle, Founder & President of Courtyard Media Ministries, Sarasota, Florida
Here is a tool for church leaders who want to help their members find the basis for a fulfilling ministry, based on what God is already doing in their lives. Fifty chapters--enough for a year of small group discussions--present practical truths with interesting illustrations and provocative questions for reflection. Distilling dozens of books and decades of life experience, Pastor Bishop has pulled together a rich collection of ideas and exercises. With these, whether reading alone or in the context of a small group, readers can learn to appreciate their God-given uniqueness and find fulfillment within it. This book lays out such a system and process, with inspiration included. --Carl George, church consultant and author of Nine Keys to Effective Small Group Leadership, and How to Break Growth Barriers.
Craig Bishop has written a terrific detailed and practical guide to self-discovery in his book Discovering Your Divine Design. Craig is a practitioner of life, not just a theorist, and it shows in this book. I strongly endorse this book, which is the product of decades dealing with the topic and its application. --Doug Murren, author of Leader Shift, Baby Boomerang, and Keeping Your Dreams Alive.
