The Bandanna Shakespeare Playbook series books, including The Taming of the Shrew Director's Playbook, is designed to help a director and/or assistant director to keep track of all the details in every department in a production of a Shakespeare play. That includes a Producer responsible for overseeing a budget, publicity, advertising, the playbill design and printing, hiring a hall if necessary; the Pre-Production departments for Set Design and for Wardrobe or costuming, which is especially important in this play, with several characters playing double roles in order to win affection or escape detection. Stage Management is also considered, for sound, lights, curtains, shuffling the sets around between scenes.
