From Library Journal:
Janice Griffith is struggling to raise her son on a waitress's salary when she gets an unexpected surprise. Her ex-husband, now a professional football player, resurfaces. Bill "Buck" Mason has found God and wants to make amends for past mistakes by remarrying Janice. Janice, who is also a born-again Christian, is unsure of Buck's sincerity but allows herself to be swept into a remarriage. But the couple's newfound religious beliefs don't make their second marriage any easier. Although the characterization is on the weak side, Gouge (Once There Was a Way Back Home, Crossway, 1994) does a solid job of depicting how a marriage between two Christians is rarely the idyll it is often portrayed as.
