The Jacobs family built two houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, including the first 'Usonian' house, and the more exotic 'Solar Hemicycle', and here recount their experiences including living in the houses and doing much of the work on the second house, after Wright was offended by a comment in one of the author's earlier books. Jacobs was a writer and reporter whose books include accounts of life in Wisconsin and a biography of Wright. INSCRIBED by the authors on the title page: "For Allan and Marjorie, with warmest love. April 20, 1979 Herb and Kick[?]" Allan and Marjorie [Kreilick] McNab were artists and an art administrator/professor then living in Madison. Oblong hardcover in jacket, as pictured.
