About the Author:
Allan Ahlberg is one of the most acclaimed and successful authors of children's books. His books for Walker include The Mysteries of Zigomar; Monkey Do!; Mockingbird; The Bravest Ever Bear; The Snail House; Treasure Hunt; and the other two books in the series about the Gaskitt family, The Man Who Wore All His Clothes and The Cat Who Got Carried Away. McEwen's colorful, cartoonlike illustrations are a perfect complement for Ahlberg's understated, comic style, and there are several running gags, including a doormat with an ever-changing message, that will keep young readers engaged. The format (short chapters, large print, and easy-reader-style text placement) will appeal to beginning readers, and the sophisticated plot will intrigue slightly older ones.
