Steve Tomecek, a.k.a. the "Dirtmeister," is a well-known science educator and author who leads science workshops for teachers and students all over the country. Steve is the creator and star of Dr. Dad's PH-3--Phantastic Physical Phenomena, the Emmy Award winning science series produced by Louisiana Public Television. He has also served as a consultant for the TV shows The Magic School Bus, Newton's Apple, and 3-2-1 Classroom Contact as well as the NYC Board of Education and numerous science museums across the U.S. Steve's Dirtmeister's Science Lab is a popular feature on the Scholastic Network--Scholastic's online website for teachers and students. He is the author of the award-winning Bouncing & Bending Light and Simple Attractions (W. H. Freeman). Steve lives with his family in Queens, New York.
