From Booklist:
Gr. 1-3. This All Aboard Reading title offers basic information on the solar system, including some mention of historical beliefs about the planets. Although the sentence length and vocabulary are suitable for beginning readers, the content in a few places may exceed some youngsters' abilities, as with this math problem: "On Mercury, a year is only eighty-eight days long. How old are you in Mercury years?" But the title also makes most concepts easy to grasp through kid-friendly examples ("If Earth were the size of a pea, Jupiter would be the size of an orange"), aided by an attractive page design and Ortakales' cut-paper collages, which are reminiscent of David Wisnewski's work. Satisfying nonfiction for beginning readers. Gillian Engberg
