From Library Journal:
When two thugs kill his partner, Atlanta vice detective Billy Marcus vows revenge. Appropriating a dead crook's identity, he joins the heroin smuggling ring to which the thugs belong, an outfit assembled by priggish London millionaire Charles Bendroit, who stands to gain $50 million from one colossal deal. In the course of a single journey to Hong Kong, Burma, and New York, Marcus oversees the "help," collects the heroin shipment, exacts his revenge, falls in love, and exchanges the goods for cash. Kenrick ( Faraday's Flowers , Blast ) uses the good guy/bad guy formula to advantage: high adventure, romance, and betrayal create excitement and interest. Albeit none of this occurs with much suspense, originality or depth of character, the book remains a pleasant, if transparent, diversion. Rex E. Klett, Anson Cty . Lib., Wadesboro, N.C.
