Wendy A. Goldberg is a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Social Behavior in the School of Social Ecology at the University of California, Irvine and is Vice Chair of the Department. She also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Education. She received her B.A. from Wesleyan University and her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. She is a member of the Society for Research in Child Development, the American Psychological Association, the Association for Psychological Science, and the National Council on Family Relations. At UC Irvine, Professor Goldberg teaches the Development of Gender Differences at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Her mentorship of undergraduates earned her the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Research. Her professional articles and books concern the family context of child development and span the topics of maternal employment, the transition to parenthood, fatherhood, attachment, sleep arrangements, autism, and gender roles.
