Most of Jim Corbett's books contain collections of stories that recount adventures tracking and shooting man-eaters in the Indian Himalaya. This volume, however, consists of a single story, often considered the most exciting of all Corbett's jungle tales. He gives a carefully-detailed account of a notorious leopard that terrorized life in the hills of the colonial United Provinces. This story represents Corbett's most sustained and unique effort.

About the Author:

About the Author:
Jim Corbett was a renowned hunter.
Review:
It is unfair that Sir Jim Corbett, along with his phenomenal hunting dexterity, was fantastically skilled at writing and narrating events. I understand that Jungle and Animal related events can by themselves create a sort of affinity with the reader, but having said that, i would not like to take credit away from Sir Corbett for his gripping expression of the events that took place while he was on the trail of the Rudraprayag Man Eating Leopard. The engaging writing made everything seem so real, as if watching someone from my window. --By Darpan on 26 March 2014

Thrilling experience. After reading this book I concluded that his name is deserve to given one of the National Parks in India for his service to Innocent people of those days. He risked his life so many times to save those rudraprayaga area people from man eating leopard. --By Dileep K. on 22 November 2016

Jim Corbett is one of those few writers who have a natural talent for writing. Reading this book was amazing and it was very hard to put down. Feels just like you are actually present there with Corbett in first person. This book is one of those few books which you don't want to end since you enjoy the reading but still want to know the end. --By Tajender on 6 September 2016
