Book Description Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Richard Egielski (illustrator). 1st Edition. Isabel Langis Cusack seems to have written just two children's books and it's the other one ("Ivan the Great", 1978) that is the more successful. But this book is interesting - especially if you're interested in pigeon racing. A young boy, struck mute by a trauma when a toddler, takes a life-changing interest in racing pigeons. The illustrator was winner of the 1987 Caldecott Medal and here contributes five full page drawings. The gutters of the endpapers are just a tad browned, otherwise a fine copy in very good, slightly browned dust jacket with edge nicks and a ½" chip from base of rear flap. Seller Inventory # 002260
